A place to read.
A way to come together.

Product context
A digital home for Hindu devotion.
Dharmasthan brings aartis, bhajans, deity and festival content, live aarti experiences and Mandal websites into one product.
It serves individual devotees and community mandals. The opportunity is practical: make devotional texts easier to find, shared reading easier to follow and local events easier to publish.
The product connects two scales of participation: a person reading an aarti on their phone, and a mandal giving its community a place to discover celebrations and events.

What I took responsibility for.
As Co-founder & CTO, I built the foundational Mandal website infrastructure, Live Aarti Rooms and autoplay. I took engineering and deployment ownership and contributed significantly to an initial launch push of approximately three days.
That launch window describes the initial release effort, not the time taken to build every feature available today. My work centred on turning the product direction into a technical foundation and a usable release.
Built as a team
Nirupam Gupta primarily led the original idea, business direction, research, growth, marketing, strategy and pitching. My focus was the technical foundation and implementation.
Product experience
From personal reading to shared participation.
The public reading experience brings devotional text and reading controls together. Multilingual content, deities, festivals and curated playlists offer different ways into the library.
Live Aarti Rooms extend the experience into shared participation. I developed the room functionality and autoplay. The room image below is an existing product reference, rather than a newly captured two-device demonstration.
Mandal websites give community activity its own home. The Shiv Sai Mitra Mandal site shows celebrations, events and playlists in the context of a real local community.

Engineering
The foundation behind the experience.
A foundation for community websites
I built the foundational Mandal website infrastructure. The public Shiv Sai Mitra Mandal site is a concrete example of the community experience this work supports.
The engineering scope goes beyond an individual page: the product needs to support the mandal’s web presence as part of Dharmasthan.
Live reading and autoplay
I developed Live Aarti Rooms and autoplay, bringing engineering ownership to the shared devotional experience.
The goal is participation: helping people follow a devotional experience together. The screenshots document the interface; they do not establish synchronization latency or a particular transport protocol.
Taking a release across the line
I took responsibility for engineering and deployment during the product’s initial launch effort and continued technical development.
The initial push was a team milestone. It is separate from the ongoing work on the broader library, community features and native applications.
